The FTR CORNERSTONE® system includes two 200 lb (91 kg) weight stacks. Each stack can be increased to 250 lb (113 kg) or 300 lb (136 kg) with the correct Force USA Weight Stack Upgrade kits.
Choosing the upgrade
- Base configuration: two 200 lb (91 kg) stacks
- First dual upgrade: adds 50 lb (22.7 kg) to each stack, bringing each side to 250 lb (113 kg)
- Second dual upgrade: adds another 50 lb (22.7 kg) to each stack, bringing each side to the 300 lb (136 kg) maximum
Choose the dual-stack option for the FTR. Adding upgrades during initial assembly is easier because installing them later requires access to the guide rods and weight stack assembly.
Understanding the 2:1 ratio
The FTR Freestyle Pulley Arms use a 2:1 cable ratio. The handle resistance is half of the selected stack weight, while cable travel is doubled.
- 200 lb selected produces approximately 100 lb of handle resistance (91 kg selected produces approximately 45.5 kg)
- 250 lb selected produces approximately 125 lb of handle resistance (113 kg selected produces approximately 56.5 kg)
- 300 lb selected produces approximately 150 lb of handle resistance (136 kg selected produces approximately 68 kg)
Actual feel can vary slightly because of pulley friction and attachment weight.
Installation safety
Remove all cable tension before working on a stack. Support the top plate and follow the owner's manual when removing spacers or adding plates. If the stack does not move smoothly after installation, stop using it and contact Force USA support before applying a training load.
