Use this hub to plan, assemble, inspect, and troubleshoot a Force USA C10 CORNERSTONE® Trainer. Start by identifying the model because the current 2027 C10 and the earlier C10 Pro use different manuals and assembly instructions.
Which C10 do I have?
Check the SKU on the product label or order confirmation.
- 2027 C10, SKU F-C10-V2: Use the current F-C10-V2 manual. The setup and troubleshooting instructions below apply to this model.
- Earlier C10 Pro, SKU F-C10: Use the legacy F-C10 manual and the official 2024 C10 Pro assembly video.
Do not mix frame, cable, weight-stack, spacer, selector, or Smith Machine instructions between these models. F-C10-V2 owners should not use the 2024 video for base assembly or Freestyle Pulley trolley mounting.
For an overview of the current model, watch The C10 2027: Full Breakdown. This is a product walkthrough, not a step-by-step assembly video. Use the current manual as the assembly source.
Plan the room and assembly area
The 2027 C10 frame dimensions are:
- Exterior: 48 in wide, or 77 in wide with the Smith Machine, × 56 in deep × 87.5 in high (122 cm wide, or 195.5 cm wide with the Smith Machine, × 142 cm deep × 222 cm high)
- Interior: 44 in wide × 48 in deep × 83 in high (112 × 122 × 211 cm)
The manual requires a flat, level, stable surface and recommends 3 to 5 ft (1 to 1.5 m) of clearance around the unit to avoid obstacles or interference. Allow additional space above the 87.5 in (222 cm) frame if you plan to perform full pull-ups.
Before assembly:
- Use two or more people. The manual highly recommends this for assembly.
- Plan approximately six hours for assembly.
- Have the included 4 mm and 6 mm Allen keys and the included 14 mm, 17 mm, and 19 mm wrenches ready. Ratchets can make assembly faster.
- Keep children and pets away from the assembly area.
- Consider a protective mat beneath the unit.
- Remove every part from the packaging, organize the hardware by step, and compare the parts with the manual.
- Keep the packaging until assembly and the final inspection are complete.
If a part is missing, incorrect, or damaged, stop and follow What Should I Do If an Item Is Missing, Incorrect, or Damaged?.
Follow the manual's tightening sequence
During assembly, follow the hand-tight or fully-tighten icon shown on each manual step.
For the main frame:
- Leave the hardware loose enough for the frame to align unless the step specifically says to fully tighten it.
- Complete the main assembly on a flat, level surface.
- Tighten the remaining hand-tight hardware from the bottom upward.
- Move evenly around the unit while tightening.
- Recheck that the frame remains level and square.
Do not overtighten pulleys, bearings, or other rotating or pivoting components. They must move freely.
Verify the standard weight stacks
Step 9 of the F-C10-V2 manual shows the standard dual 200 lb (90 kg) stacks.
For each standard stack, the diagram uses:
- Two Weight Stack Spacers, part 32
- Two Weight Stack Rubber Bumpers, part 33
- Two Guide Rods, part 34
- One 200 lb (90 kg) Weight Stack, part 35
- One Pulley Frame, part 36
- One Incremental Weight Plate, part 37
- One Selector Rod Connecting Pin, part 40
- One Weight Stack Selector Pin, part 41
- One Selector Rod, part 42
Before moving on:
- Confirm each spacer and rubber bumper matches the Step 9 diagram.
- Confirm all four guide rods are seated and secured.
- Confirm each selector rod is centered in the stack and correctly connected to the top plate.
- Confirm the connecting pins and selector pins seat without being forced.
- Confirm every plate is aligned and can move on the guide rods without binding.
The current C10 can be upgraded from 200 lb (90 kg) to 250 lb (113 kg) per side. Use the instructions supplied with the exact upgrade kit or contact Support before changing the spacer arrangement, selector components, or cable tension. Do not guess or use another model's stack setup.
Verify the cables and pulleys
The current manual identifies:
- Upper Main Frame Cables, part 48: Routed in Step 10
- Lower Main Frame Cables, part 53: Routed in Step 11
- 90 mm Aluminum Pulleys, part 45
- 75 mm Aluminum Pulleys, part 50
- 50 mm Aluminum Pulleys, part 52
- Figure-8 Pulley Brackets, part 43
Before loaded exercise:
- Trace each cable from end to end against the correct manual diagram.
- Confirm each cable sits fully inside every pulley groove.
- Confirm the cable touches only the pulley wheels.
- Confirm no cable travels over or under a bolt, frame member, cover, or other hardware.
- Confirm every pulley turns freely and is not overtightened.
- Inspect the cables for twisting, pinching, fraying, cracking, or other damage.
- Confirm the selector pin can be inserted smoothly into every weight plate.
The 2027 C10 pulley ratios are:
- Bottom Center Cables: 1:1. Connecting both bottom center cables combines the selected resistance from both stacks.
- Top Center Cables: 2:1. Selecting 100 lb (45 kg) produces approximately 50 lb (23 kg) of resistance.
- Freestyle Pulley Arms: 2:1. Selecting 100 lb (45 kg) produces approximately 50 lb (23 kg) of resistance.
A different resistance at another connection point can be normal. Confirm the cable location and whether one or both center cables are connected before treating the resistance as a fault.
Set up the Freestyle Pulley Arms
The Freestyle Pulley Arms have two operating modes:
- Lock Mode: Engage the pop pin to hold the arm in a fixed position.
- Flow Mode: Disengage the pop pin to allow 180 degrees of movement.
Before use:
- Confirm both trolleys move smoothly on their uprights.
- Confirm each trolley locks fully at the selected height.
- Confirm each arm's mode pin engages or disengages as intended.
- Confirm the cable at the rear of each Freestyle Pulley hangs straight down or retains slight movement. The manual warns against creating a fixed stress point in this cable.
Verify the Smith Machine
The Smith Machine is assembled in Steps 13 through 15. The manual identifies the Smith Bar Guide Rods, Sliding Frames, Safety Hooks, Rubber Bumpers, and Smith Bar.
Before use:
- Confirm the full frame is level and square.
- Confirm both guide rods are straight, clean, lubricated, and undamaged.
- Confirm the Smith bar moves smoothly without binding or dragging on one side.
- Confirm both Safety Hooks engage the rack consistently.
- Confirm the Smith bar rests evenly on both sides.
Use only 100 percent silicone spray on the Smith bars and guide rods. The manual says this is especially important before first use and recommends inspection every four to six weeks.
Install the floor brackets correctly
Step 22 attaches four L-Shape Floor Brackets, part 87, to the C10 frame using the supplied M12 frame hardware.
The manual does not specify the fasteners that secure those brackets to the building floor. Use fasteners that are appropriate for the floor construction and follow local requirements. Ask a qualified installer when the correct fastener or anchoring method is uncertain.
Confirm included attachments and separate accessories
The F-C10-V2 manual lists these included attachment types:
- Close Grip Triangle and Landmine Handle
- Bodyweight Assisted Strap
- Single Knurled Handle
- Tricep Rope
- Extension Chains
- Ankle Cuff
- Revolving Lat Pulldown Bar
- Pegs
- Dual Cable Connector
- Mag Pins
- Magnetic Olympic Lock Collars
The C10 includes the functional trainer stack weights and the Smith bar. A separate bench, free-weight barbell, and Olympic weight plates are not included.
The Base Bench and Sliding Bench are separate cable-connected options. The Sliding Bench adds leg press and hack squat capability. Use the Sliding Bench manual for its assembly, cable routing, pins, and exercise setup.
Review the current C10 product page before adding another attachment. Compatibility can vary by model and SKU.
Troubleshoot a floating weight-stack top plate
The top plate should rest on the stack when the station is at rest.
The manual identifies two cable-tension adjustment points:
- Thread the pulley assembly entering the weight stack farther into or out of the top plate.
- Move the floating pulley to a different bolt hole. Refer to Step 7 of the manual.
The goal is to keep correct cable tension while allowing the selector pin to enter each plate smoothly. If the pin will not insert, the manual says to loosen the cable slightly at an adjustment point.
If the correct pulley, thread position, or bolt hole is unclear, stop and send photos to Support rather than guessing.
Troubleshoot cables that are not smooth
Check the following in order:
- Confirm each cable touches only the pulley wheels.
- Confirm the complete route matches Steps 10 and 11.
- Confirm no cable passes over or under a bolt or frame member.
- Confirm the cable sits inside every pulley groove.
- Confirm no pulley wheel is overtightened.
- Confirm every pulley turns freely.
- Inspect the cable and pulleys for damage.
Do not spray silicone into ball bearings. The manual states that silicone can wash out the internal bearing grease. If bearing service is required, the manual calls for penetrating grease applied directly to the ball bearings once per year. Contact Support if the bearing, pulley, or correct service method is uncertain.
Troubleshoot a Smith Machine that drags or a frame that is not square
If the Smith Machine is not smooth or drags on one side:
- Confirm the unit is level and square.
- Clean and lubricate the guide rods with 100 percent silicone spray.
- Confirm the guide rods are not bent or damaged.
If the base is not square or the Smith Machine does not rest evenly on both sides, loosen the frame nuts and bolts, then retighten from the bottom upward while moving evenly around the unit.
Stop using the Smith Machine if a guide rod, Sliding Frame, Safety Hook, weld, fastener, or other load-bearing component is damaged or does not operate correctly.
Follow the maintenance schedule
- Before every session: Confirm all parts are working, inspect for cracks or structural wear, and check for loose hardware.
- After each use: Wipe the equipment with a dry, nonabrasive cloth.
- Every four to six weeks: Inspect, clean, and lubricate the Smith bars and weight-stack guide rods with 100 percent silicone spray. Reapply sooner if a surface appears dry.
- Annually: Inspect and adjust the cables. Confirm correct tension, overall condition, and smooth selector-pin engagement.
- Annually: Service machine ball bearings with penetrating grease applied directly to the bearing. Never spray the bearings with silicone.
Keep the C10 out of use until worn, frayed, damaged, or malfunctioning parts are repaired or replaced.
Complete the final safety check
Before the first workout:
- Confirm the frame is level and square.
- Confirm all hand-tight hardware has received the final bottom-up tightening.
- Confirm every part specifically marked for full tightening is secure.
- Confirm J-Cups, Spotter Arms, handles, pins, and attachments lock fully.
- Confirm the stack plates, selector rods, incremental plates, and selector pins move correctly.
- Confirm every cable remains in its pulley grooves through the full trolley and handle travel.
- Confirm every pulley and pivoting component moves freely.
- Confirm both Freestyle Trolleys move and lock correctly.
- Confirm the Smith Machine travels and racks evenly on both sides.
- Keep hair, fingers, clothing, jewelry, children, and pets away from moving parts.
Never operate the C10 if a part is worn, frayed, cracked, bent, loose, damaged, or malfunctioning.
